Dudley’s RC Story – From 2003 to Today
My RC story didn’t start in 2026. It started way back in 2003, when my mum bought me my very first toy RC. That little car was the spark. After that, I bought myself a built‑kit RC rally car, and I spent years building it, fixing it, and learning how everything worked. Then came a monster truck RC, and in 2017, my first drift RC.
That was the year I started trying to record RC videos. I was just playing around, learning, experimenting. Drift wasn’t really for me, so I went back to my monster truck and I kept every RC I owned.
Until life changed.
Like a lot of my things, my whole RC collection had to be sold to pay bills when everything fell apart. I moved back in with my dad with almost nothing. That part of the story is in my book, but it’s also part of why this RC journey means so much to me now.
2024 – Coming Back to RC
In 2024, I bought myself an Arrma Vorteks. That was the moment RC came back into my life. It wasn’t for racing it was a show‑boat RC, something fun, something fast, something that reminded me of who I used to be.
But I had nowhere to take it. No tracks. No groups. No events.
Then something changed.
End of 2025 – Discovering Crawlers
At the end of 2025, I started watching RC crawler videos on YouTube. For months, I researched, watched, learned, and realised something important:
I could learn to drive a crawler in my own back garden.
I could build my own obstacles. I could practice alone. I could grow my confidence. And eventually, I could go out and meet new people.
That’s when the idea became real.
2026 – The Official Start
Monday, 11/05/26 The day I officially picked up my RC crawler.
I posted the unboxing on Dudley’s Hub on YouTube on 13/05/26, and my first run is already up on TikTok as Dudley’s Hub. A full long‑form video is coming next week on DanielDudleyUK, sharing the full story of why I’m getting into RC crawling.
This post – and this page – is the beginning.
Soon, there will be a full RC section on my website where you can follow:
