LETS TALK ABOUT WHY I STARTED 3D PRINTING

I want to share and talk about why I started 3D printing, I want to say I’ve got learning disability and mental health and I’m a scale model builder on all social media and youtube, Also when I started 3D printers was not like what they are like now, Slow and basic and hard to run, I was doing model building from 2021 and I found getting kits hard and hen if you broke a part or a part got lost you had to pay for a new kit or pay for that missing part, At the time I had no job and I was out of work for my mental health and Scale model building was the way out and the safe way for it, and to keep it going I needed a way to keep the cost down I saw people using 3D printers to make parts for models and then in 01/01/22 I got my first printer and that was a filament and the printer was a Creality Ender 3 Pro and It was very hard to learn and if you did something wrong or a bit of mess on the printer you didn’t see the print is a fail and I started to pick it up and found I just left it and the printer just started to pick up dust, I learned in May 2022 resin 3D printing is better for me and what I want and then I went and got a resin printer and it was called Elegoo Mars 3 Pro and again it was hard to learn and took me long time but I found resin was more easier and less problems and you are working with, The sad thing is if it fails you can’t see it and on the Ender you can and you can stop it. And again I stopped not because of the cost and not because it was to hard to set up it was because there was nothing around for what I needed so I had to keep spending on kits and in 2023 I learned about 3D scanning and I started to look it up and try and learn if it’s good for me, and again after looking around there was not a good price scanner for my need’s and I also started to see more stuff for 3D all round printing and I also seen people scan more too thought the year I kept a eye out and end of the year I got a scanner and because of my learning problems it’s easier to have my dad understand before me so he can show me better and any tips he found, and I found I needed a new PC because my laptop was not that good for the scanner and my dads PC was not too and my old gaming PC was out of date I needed a USB 3, and again because of cost and having to wait and save up, the scanner stopped but at this time I was 3D resin more and I got a better resin printer because I knocked resin in the printer and in side was broke and I found a better printer an it was a Elegoo Mars 4 it got WIFI and sadly it didn’t work so good and I just kept using it when I can I started to get better and time I didn’t know what to print and I needed a income so in June 2023 I started a shop on eBay selling my cards, I wasn’t making a lot but it helped keep the shop going and it helped keep the hobby of 3D printing going and scale model building, End of 2023 to start of 2024 I re-started to learn both printers and printing what I can and I was sharing on my shop social media and I had some local lad ask if I can 3D print something for him at this moment of time I said yes but did it cheap and he only wanted help to print fail and to pick the best one, I told him I will do the quit free and work a price out if he is happy I shipped and send many photo’s and then looked around at 3d printing service and I fount out a good price what I think is good for both printers (If you want to know my price you can by clicking here) but I don’t want to share it here sorry, But. I also wanted to sell more stuff in my shop so I was looking at ways to do that, End of 2024 and start of 2025 I got a new work space a (Shed you can see how it look here) I built it with help and got it set up right and I got the new PC for the scanner and my video and more, I also needed new printers in time I got everything and I was still getting orders for 3D printing for people and I also started to print more and now I can 70% of the time print good and now I sell more then cards and the shop is keeping it self open and the printers are helping, In just a year the printers have got me 3 customers and seen more on the internet, End of 2025 I started to pick my head up and work harder to make stuff and make video’s in the new year (2026) I’m going to learn to scan and start my own keyrings and more, I’ve also seen stuff what can be made and printed to help everyday life what is needed and will help people like myself. 3D printing for me started bad and as a hobby and now it’s a job and I also started a YouTube channel just for 3D printing and In time I am going to share more blogs like this and share how hard it is to start a shop and a 3d printing service with learning problems.
