HOLDING 1/24 SCALE ENGINE FOR PAINT/GLUE/DECALS OR DETAIL
Welcome to Dudley’s Hub and welcome to Dudley’s Blogs, this blog is done by Daniel Dudley, and it is to help people in the scale model world and it’s done by Dudley’s Scale Model Car’s.
This blog is to help and give you the idea I use for doing my 1/24 scale model car engine, the good thing is you don’t have to go out and get more you should have them in the hobby box ready.
Here is the list and clickable list to help you get the right stuff,
- Clips
- Clothing pegs
- Toothpick
- BlueTac
- Double-sided tape
- Wood flat stick small
- Hobby knife
Any of this work great I before clips or clothing pages, Toothpicks are good but can fall off, The others work but not for long. I have also done a video click here to see it.
TOOTHPICK
Get your 1/24 scale model engine, then get your toothpick 90% of the time you will need to cut the toothpick to fit the engine, most of the engine has a hole at the back and the toothpick can go in that, then you can start painting or doing anything you need to do.
CLIPS/CLOTHING PEG
With clips it’s easier but hard when you are painting there is always a place what will show where the clip was, If you do it right you cannot be shown at the end or wait for the paint to dry and paint that part, Like the tooth pick I always go the back and but the clip most of the time you won’t see it because of the build or if you do paint that part.
BLUETAG/DUBBLESIGHET TAPE
Using bluetac or double-sided tape is not the best or good you have to paint and use a bigger space, But if you have only got them and not got the clip or pegs you can use bluetac or double side tape I did for years, Get your engine find a flat part then get a flat small stick you might use it to stir the paint or got something to do that with anything with a flat smooth side will work, If you don’t have that and have nothing to but it on use your desk or back of your phone, please only use bluetac for that the double-sided tape might not come off but if your ok with it use it, It’s all up to you, Then you can start painting then wait for it to dry and then paint the side you missed.
I’ve done this blog to help you and new people to the bobby, so if you have got any other way of holding a 1/24 scale engine please share to help people.
